Tierra Bruñida is a small collection of hand-built and thrown ceramics inspired by the material honesty and tactile richness of traditional Mexican pottery. Rooted in my own cultural background, the series explores how roughness, irregularity, and gesture can become expressive tools when working directly with clay.

Each piece was formed using a clay body I mixed myself and finished with custom glazes developed through iterative testing. The surfaces carry layered textures—scratched, brushed, and burnished—echoing the rustic finishes found in regional folk ceramics while allowing room for personal interpretation. Soft swirls of color break across the forms, creating a visual rhythm that feels both familiar and newly imagined.

The collection embraces imperfection as a form of identity, letting the material speak through its grit, weight, and warmth. Tierra Bruñida is an homage to inherited craft traditions, re-examined through a contemporary, intimate lens.

The Ink & Earth Series is a small collection of wheel-thrown ceramics shaped by the fluid, atmospheric qualities of traditional Japanese ink painting. Drawing from the meditative rhythm of sumi-e, the series explores how gesture, contrast, and movement can become expressive tools when working directly with clay.

Each piece was formed on the wheel and finished with custom slips and glazes developed through iterative testing. The surfaces hold layered marks—swirled, brushed, and dragged—echoing the bold strokes and soft washes found in ink paintings while allowing space for personal interpretation. Deep, inky sweeps move across a warm clay body, creating a visual rhythm that feels both grounded and spontaneous.

The collection embraces irregularity as part of its identity, letting the material speak through its weight, motion, and subtle imperfections. The Ink & Earth Series is an homage to the poetic qualities of Japanese mark-making, reimagined through a contemporary, intimate lens.
